There were 2 random paint splashes, one red, one black, straight out the box. Was able to get them out with alcohol. Besides that, the bot is pretty perfect. I like that he scales closer to G1 Bumblebee size when standing next to MP-44. It looks more like a natural evolution than a character from a different series.

Was super excited and got this figure in June. The first night I got him, his ear fell out and had to be glued in. Was missing a side-view mirror also when opened. Waited a couple of days, yellow paint flakes off easily and has loose joints. I have only attempted 1 transformation and none of the panels would come together, gave up. Just tried to mess with him and the pin that holds the kibble on his calf came out. Back in the box, he goes. Not worth the money, wait on a new version from a different company.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this figure, but I am extremely satisfied with it! I hesitated between TE-02 Beetle, Zeta Toys Pioneer and the Hasbro Masterpiece MPM-7, but Beetle came out of the lot with amazing details, and movie-accuracy in both his VW from and robot mode, you can even see the head under the car, totally accurate to the movie! The instructions were of no help, depicting only 35 steps when the figure needed way more, but thankfully, video reviews on Youtube helped me achieve transformation.
Over all an amazing figure, very accurate to on-screen appearance, complex transformation but amazing results in both modes! Well worth the price.

Only nitpick : the paint does seem to chip easily in some areas, but since Bee is supposed to be an old beater, it kind of adds to the character!

Maybe watch emgo’s review of this guy as he seems to have zero issues with the alt mode. Robot mode is unbelievably screen accurate. I’m not a movie guy (Bumblebee may have changed that a bit) and I dig this lil’guy.

To start with, OP Leader? *chef kiss* easily my favorite mp-scale notprime. The transformation is clever and the engineering precise.

This guy though? Notsomuch. Tabs and slots galore. But the only thing keeing the arms in position in alt mode are the parts of the forearms that form parts of the side panel of the car. These themselves are a pain to tab in because there is nothing else that dictates the correct position the arms should be in, but there are certainly plenty of wrong positions that result in some part of side misaligned or buldging out.

As far as I can tell the yellow parts of the shoulders don't have the physical space available to sit flush with one another. But there is a non-0 chance that I am just dumb and haven't figured it out.

But even in all seriousness, my end result in alt mode looks considerably better than what is even shown in the instructions.

If I didn't know any better I would never have guessed this guy was made by the same company as the one that did OP Leader. I DO know better and it is still hard to believe.

If you are a person who focuses on having a screen accurate look then I will say that the bot mode looks terrific, but I feel pretty strongly that his wings could have been engineered to have a more wing-like range of motion instead of just folding up in a series of straight lines.

Alt mode is rife with very visible gaps between panels, even where things sit properly flush, not least of which is that gap straight across the hood - which was my biggest point of reservation in picking this guy up.

Of the other bayforming beetlebees I only have mpm-07 for comparison, but between those two I'd much sooner recommend mpm-07 to somebody who shares my tastes in tfs over this. But if you want a screen accurate bot mode Beetle seems damn close to spot on.
