I had some trouble with this guy. They used some weak plastic here. But when he ends up posed on the shelf, he looks pretty great. Tons of nitpicks, 3.5 stars.

This is a really great set and additionally this is one of the easier to transform versions of the RMX-01 Jaguar (I have all of them, now). For some reason the black version and the Howlback (Catcall) have really stiff joints, particularly in the forelegs, but this one went from cassette to kitty really fast. Watch out for the back legs, though, there's a ball joint that wants to slip out of place. (Yes poor Ravage has hip dysplasia.) If a back leg comes off it probably is NOT broken, just snap it carefully back on. Howlback/Catcall also has this issue.

i thought the figure was black but it's an olive color, which ravage sometimes appears like this in the cartoon. it still looks great on display. the figure is great. a perfect ravage.

Bought this figure after seeing reviews about how great the Ocular Max tapes were. This didn't quite live up to the hype. The biggest issue is that nothing tabs together in jaguar mode. Everything is just held in with tension so parts continually shift and move in ways you don't want them to when trying to pose and transform it. The neck and shoulders are a prime example of that. Looks odd in tap mode.

For the price I expected more. If it was 50 bucks I would be ok with lack of tabbing parts.

The good: Solid construction and materials. Well tolerated joints. Good paint. Solid poseability- albeit finicky without tabs.

I wanted to love this thing from the second I bought it. I was completely ready to be in awe of how superb this figure was going to be. And then it arrived. Oye...To describe it in a single word...fiddly. Lets expand on that.

The good:
Make no bones about it, this is probably the most screen accurate G1 ravage we've ever gotten, and probably ever will. The colors are right, the design is right, its got die-cast weight, the transformation is simple, the plastic quality is good, its highly articulated, and it looks great on an MP shelf. The only thing it doesn't have is the ability to fit in Soundwave, but hey that's the trade off, right? In all fairness it scales really well with other MPs in bot mode.

The bad:
Oh boy. The cage. Neat accessory to be included, made of the cheapest brittle plastic they could find. Don't squeeze it too hard or you'll bust through the bars like they're toothpicks. It falls off a shelf and its going to explode like safety glass. The joints. The metal joints are super tight, bordering on glued together. The plastic joints are so wobbly that once you position one leg, another will fall out of place, fix that one, then the neck wiggles out of position, fix that, the first leg wobbles loose again. Round and round. Takes awhile to get him into a pose and hold it. Don't dare touch him, else you start the process over again. His mid section doesn't peg together, at all. His entire front half is 2 pieces held together by the neck joint, so every time you adjust him the mid section wants to twist. Its neat to give the neck articulation, but not at the cost of the stability of the whole figure. His faux shoulders also don't peg in place, they just kind of slide around, its sloppy kibble. So why have them at all?

$100? Throw the cage away, its garbage. Get the price down to $70-80 and I'm comfortable with that. But at $100 price point I expect a more polished figured thats not so...fiddly. It looks great, but the engineering took a long lunch and never came back. 3 stars.
