This figure is a retool of the Potp Evolution Optimus prime/Orion Pax figure. The retooling is amazing, and the complete figure is great. The inner Optimus robot though was a little weak as a stand alone toy, but overall a great buy.

I absolutely love this figure despite the flaws.
Pros:
- Unique “anime†convoy head-sculpts for both bots really set this figure apart from countless other Prime/Convoy figures.
- Both the combined Star Convoy and smaller Convoy figures look fantastic and Takara went all out with new molded parts for both.
- All robot mode details are nicely painted on. The only stickers are for the alt-mode trailer and can be left off entirely.
- Aside from the flaws, everything holds together nicely, materials are quality, and transformation is easy and fluid.
Cons
- Various looseness in joints. The smaller prime is a bit floppy, but can still hold poses well enough and has no problem holding together for combination.
-The chest star is very difficult to keep in place (even after flipping the connection piece)
- Alt-mode wasn’t even an afterthought. It’s virtually identical to the original version of the mold. The original Star Convoy toy has a very unique alt-mode, and I wish they had at least added some features to resemble it like faux treads.
- No real base mode. Especially considering how well done the smaller prime figure was, it would be nice to display with trailer as a base for micromasters.
Overall, the appeal to this figure is the character concept. If you like the look and want a unique Convoy representation, you won’t be disappointed.
