Even though this is only just over 8" tall, it's an absolute beast of a figure. I normally stick with the G1 cartoon figures, but couldn't pass this up any longer and have zero regrets.

I, once again, am plagued by minor QC issues. His middle finger on his right hand had the joints pinned in opposing directions, so he can't ever put his middle finger down

Flame Toys' Kuro Kara Kuri rendition of Tarn is a highly detailed and articulated non-transforming masterpiece.
Even though I don't read the comics and have no connection to the character, just seeing the preview images of this amazing figure made me research Tarn and his DJD story arc.
The bulkiness (and weight) of the figure provides some serious shelf presence, particularly when beside their Drift figure. The paint applications and molded details are top notch. Tarn also has individual fingers, where Drift and Star Saber have swap out hands. The packaging is also well done.
While there are LEDs on the sides of the legs, the chest and eyes, I would have preferred a few more LEDs and accessories to maintain the premium price, particularly when compared to Drift and Star Saber.
I've found that my copy, along with my copy of Drift, has developed looser hip and shoulder joints after a few months of being displayed in a single dynamic pose. They still have enough friction to hold a new pose, and I have a bottle of Pledge if needed long term. I feel that given the price, this should not have become an issue.
Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase. While it would also be incredible if this detailed robot mode could transform into a detailed tank, I'll just pretend Tarn finally ran out of transformation cogs.

This figure has exceeded all expectations. He has an excellent range of movement, making him extremely poseable. This also means that he can convey a lot of emotion not normally possible with most figures (especially ones with masks). He’s scaled to be similar in size to the Masterpiece seekers, so it’s fairly easy to set up scenes.
There are a few minor drawbacks, but nothing that can’t be ignored. First, the optic LEDs are on the same switch as those for the chest LEDs, which can tend to look a little strange if you’re trying for dramatic effect on photos but is otherwise not an issue. Second, the hands and fingers are very prone to popping out, to the point where the instruction manual cautions you that this is normal and nothing to worry about.
All-in-all, I’m extremely happy with this figure. He would make an excellent addition to any Decepticon fan’s collection.

Wow tarn looks really cool because of the removable mask and the individual fingers make it really good for possing and it's mettalic
