Some day, when Fanstoys releases a Whirl, this will go back into the box, but until then, this will fill his place in my shelf.
This is my definition of "good enough for now".

If you like the aesthetic you'll be able to enjoy the figure. I have other figures where when I transform them I have to say the please-dont-break prayer but not this one.

Fun figure if your a idw mtmte fan or a wrecker fan easy transformation cant complain.

I had been on the fence about this bot. I liked the design and MMC is always great, but when I got it in hand, all my reservations melted away. This bot feels great. The plastic is high quality. The colors are amazing and the design is both fun and easy to understand. Would highly recommend this!

A fantastic figure based on Whirl's appearance in the IDW "Stormbringer" comic. Highly articulate with a fun transformation, not to mention very sturdy construction and joint-wise.

A couple issues to note, the ankle articulation is a bit limited and the clips within his claws are specifically made only to hold the Sword he comes with, which cannot be stored anywhere. Otherwise, highly recommended.

I really love this toy! The design is beautiful, lovingly detailed and very futuristic. In robot mode, he is highly poseable, and while some might consider it a bit of a "cheat", I am glad MC put the solid, circular "claws" in the muddle of those long, articulated talons so he can still hold swords, etc. without having to fuss too much with posing the digits.

One tip: you may want to loosen the screw holding his antenna on so that it rotates/ folds up more smoothly. And always try to move it by the base rather than the tip - it is the thinnest and most delicate part of this toy.

Overall, I am more than happy with this toy. He is currently posed heroically atop my cubicle wall at work, sword drawn, and has sparked many entertaining conversations about toy collecting, hobbies, kids and nostalgia.

This is a superior Whirl mold, especially to Hasbro. Excellent figure.

MMC put out some of the best in 3rd party transformers. This modern version of Whirl is no exception. Color scheme adheres to Whirl’s 80s make-up while updating his vehicle mold to a futuristic Osprey. Transformed he is clean and balanced. He stands on his own without effort and his joints are appropriately tight. Admittedlly, I loved the original Whirl but If you’re going to give less than a 5 star review ... let’s support with an explanation and constructive criticism.

Now this guy might be well put together but some might not like the esthetics of him but he still has that Whirl feel and look to him.

He is also quite solidly built though. I hope to see more like him in the future.
