I own the original version of this mold, FT-04, and purchased this item with the hope that all 5 of FansToys' "Dibots" would release in this "Comic Book Accurate" color scheme. I also own MP-08X, the Takara Grimlock variant that this is supposed to resemble color-wise which has a color scheme based on the comic book rather than the cartoon. FT-04X, however, deviates from MP-08X in two ways. The figure matches very well with MP-08X in that it has red eyes and similar silver paint for the exterior dinosaur body, however, the gold chrome on the triceratops's head is the lighter gold shade that FT-05 and MP-08 possess, but not MP-08X which uses darker chrome. There is additional gold chrome under the jaw of the triceratops that is darker and actually does match MP-08X, however, I was hoping ALL of the chrome would match. Also, MP-08X replaces MP-08's black paint with dark blue - FT-04X uses standard black paint rather than the dark blue, so this is one more deviation from MP-08X. Otherwise, when judged by itself, this is an excellent figure with a great design and beautiful color scheme. My hope is that all 5 "Dibots" released by FansToys will have a similar "X" version - they already appear to be deviating from MP-08X, so it is my hope that the remaining 4 are close to FT-04X in appearance so I can have a set of matching "Dibots" - though unfortunately, I'm quite sure the gold chrome will follow the shade of the original mold (based on the cartoon color-scheme) for future releases. It's also worth mentioning that FT-04X also has an addition of red chrome on the chest of the figure (FT-04 was just regular red paint) surrounding the false bottom jaw which conceals the robot's head in dino-mode - I think it's a nice addition and I hope to see similar uses of the red chrome in future "Dibot" releases.

I usually buy the toon accurate figures, but it was sold out so I sprang for this one. This is one of the most impressive figure I've seen. The silver paint gives it a primium look. I would have liked the option to get Crome thighs, and blue eyes in robot mode like the toon version. I will display this in Dino mode, so it doesn't bother me to much. I like the red eyes better for Dino mode. The biggest negative is that the rest of my master piece collection looks and feels a bit cheap in comparison.
