The toy itself is not hard to transform, except maybe for the ankle/feet part. Feet only has ratchet attachment on one side, so rotating could be difficult if one hasn't figured out a way to do it (hold and rotate that part, the other side without the ratchet will follow, but do support the other end that isn't attached).

I love this guy. Yes, he is tricky to transform (especially the feet), but if you're CAREFUL it can be done with little aggravation. It's all about what you want. He is spectacular in robot form; evil personified. One of my favorite transformers of any toy line.

The QC on this figure is horrendous. I had to exchange the first one I got because the paint was so bad and the replacement was worse. No one should pay almost $200 for a figure that has paint that looks like it’s been played with by a toddler for a week. Wait on a co with good QC to make him.

What I like: overall look and color scheme. Ratchet joins; size.
What I don't like: some of the edges are very rough; super-annoying-to-transform feet; the gun doesn't fit into either of the hand slots; the knee ratchets on one leg don't work.

I'd heard so many complaints about this guy, particularly his feet, theres youtube vidoesto help alot. Watch paik4life, emgo, peaugh these helped with the pretty intuitive transformation.
All in all he is fantastic looking, feeling, and very fun playable. I may even get the weirdo batteries for his light-up red eyes...someone suggested loading up at the dollar store. Get him, if you loved the real movie in86' you likely really dig Scourge & Cyclonus

Overall, the figure looks good. However, at least for my figure, the tabs for the outer part of the ship do not tab in well. But, what really is bad about the figure is transforming the feet. There is no clearance to transform the feet and in fact, it pushes the hull apart a little while transforming. Just watch out when you do this part.

Overall, the plastic quality felt good, and the joints felt great for the first week or so. After transforming it twice both ways, I set it on a shelf and let it be. When I attempted to pose it differently a week later, one ratchet broke and the rest grew increasingly tight and squeaky. If you buy this, and I advise not to, don't mess with it much. For display only!
