Note: This version of MP-08x King Grimlock has an additional throne accessory. It is quite large, and Takara is selling this separately, not including it for free like prior accessories. Based on this we must charge for the additional cost and additional air freight of this accessory. Pictures of the actual throne accessory are posted, scroll through the images above to view it!
This special edition version of Masterpiece King Grimlock includes a custom crown, as well as sword and gun, and also looks to be painted slightly differently than the normal MP-08 release. He is colored to match the American Transformers comic, and will feature packaging paying homage to the comic version as shown below!
Note: He will not include the apron, serving set, and other accessories that come with the normal Masterpiece Grimlock
Official Release Date: August 15th, 2014.
"NOT! a true throne for the king"
I got my Masterpiece king Grimlock in today and was very excited until I got to the throne accessory. The box was super light (at first thinking the box was empty) but when I saw the throne in person I was disappointed, it's just a plastic, hallow 2 piece cut-out throne. The king Grimlock figure is great and everything to expect but not worth the extra money for a egg-carton like chair.
"I never write reviews but this Throne is utter garbage. "
I received my MP08X King Grimlock yesterday and was super excited. The figure itself it wonderful and the price I paid is very reasonable compared to what the figure cost a few months ago. If I only received the figure, the review will be 5 stars. However the one star on this review is for the Throne. I would have chosen no stars if that was an option. The throne is a complete joke and utter garbage. It is a slap in the face from Hasbro to their loyal fan base. The throne is made of cheap plastic, beyond flimsy and slightly thicker than a piece of paper.
"Slightly Dissappointe d"
Well the toy is great. It is much better then the original mp-08 and I couldn't be happier with it.
But the real issue with this is, the throne! The throne is a 2 piece plastic cut out and it is in my opinion not even worth 20$. The throne should have been made much more sturdy and of better plastic. I am pretty upset that this was made the way it was, but what can you do.
Other then that though, the packaging for Grimmy is great and the toy is impeccable. But your better off buying the non-throne version and saving 20$ because the throne is in my opinion very poorly made.
Mp8x is a great figure, I have the original, so when I got this one I thought the throne came in the box, it didn't so disappointed on that ,but realized, I can open this one, since my other is sealed, as far as the cheap throne, I can use it to make a real throne out of mortar since its hollow, problem solved. Thanks tfsource for being a great company for our tf needs
Do not buy the throne. It is made of the same plastic used to make Halloween masks. Its thin, frail, and worth no more than 2 dollars. The additional 20 is a rip off. Avoid the throne, don't buy it, you will regret it, I guarantee it.
"Check the Bicep articulation!"
My king has two right bicep pieces so the left arm will not move properly. I did not notice it until somebody pointed it out on a fourm. I also have minor paint scratches and a spec of missing chrome.
Very let down by the overall QA of this figure. I will be returning it.
The king grimlock is just kick ass but the throne just sucks ass!! ;)
"This is the *REISSUE*"
If you watch the video linked in here, you will be expecting to receive the bright silver Grimlock. This is not the case. This is a reissue of that bright silver Grimlock... the one that looks like a dull KO with identical QC issues. The dino arms aren't fully painted, his clear plastic areas are cloudy and have a greenish hue to them. There's a spec of gold chrome missing from the side of his torso in robot mode. Sprue marks everywhere.
The good: He's well priced, his accessories are all fine, save the crown (which has a giant sprue mark on the back of it). He's no more and no less wobbly than the very first Takara MP-08.
There's a video that's a couple of years old that identifies the differences between MP-08X and this reissue. The one I received has every single issue that guy's does, and it's the middle of 2016 now.
If you want a nice Grimlock, get this one. If you want to spend 2x-3x to get a flawless one, I wouldn't blame you.
A mint box generally has no noticeable flaws. This doesn't mean it is a C10 box, but that it doesn't have any significant damage to the box. It still may have wear to the window, and a small amount of wear to the box that is noticeable upon close inspection.
A C9 box is still considered very displayable and may have a kink, ding, minor fray to an edge, etc. The box is still case fresh and unopened with factory sealed tape on both sides.
By selecting this option, ToySource allows you to continue to add either instock or preorder items to your stack, as well as change how your orders ship out, which can save you on shipping!
