This really improved my enjoyment of the figure. The bigger gun is awesome. i was able to put in the shoulder tabs right away just looking at the instructions. My only problem was the head popped off the ball joint as i was installing it which caused the head to be a bit loose after but i was able to fix it by squeezing the head together.

I was thinking about the SXS set until I heard Dr. Wu was entering the fray. I'm not sorry I waited.

The head is great, and though I don't display it with the skull face (you just have to pull off the normal face/visor, which is an external piece pegged to the head), it's really neat to see the skull/robot eyes peering through the red visor. An unnecessary, but appreciated touch.

The gun is a massive improvement over the original. Not only is the color matching P-E-R-F-E-C-T, but you get a bunch of really nice translucent red bits too - again, a nice touch.

Finally, the shoulder fixes. I'm not sure why people are confused by these - they simply snap onto the back as shown on the back of the box. The tabs on the small attachments put pressure on the shoulder pegs to actually, well... peg into the front! And they work. No more floppy shoulders, and I had no trouble transforming Blitzwing with the fixes attached. Total win.

Highly recommended - helps transform a fun mold to a truly great one!

Pros: head sculpt looks nice, gun is nice, and the little clips for the shoulders work well.

Cons: if you put the new head all the way into the slot (so it clicks in place), it will rub a lot when you push the head down for transformation. I can see the paint rubbing off the chin if you transform him a bit. The head can sit without being fully snapped into place, but the chin still rubs a little. The head is too large to turn around 180 degrees and get it inside the compartment.

The little picture on the box for where to place the should fix is pretty hard to read. The clips attach somewhat high on the back of the figure, with the tab piece facing forward. This will push the figures shoulder assembly forward enough to make a snug connection. It seems like the clips will need to be removed for transformation though, as the legs will run into them and the legs should be flush.

I plan on pulling the head off for transformation, since I'm already removing the shoulder fix.

I got this kit because there is a lot of positive out there for Dr. Wu products and this was my first one. Got to say, for what it mainly is, a fix to the shoulder issue, I am disappointed. The new head and gun look really good but the new shoulder clips leave a lot to be desired. Mainly because the installation instructions are so poor. After messing with the clips over a number of days including looking at the miniscule instructions on the box and attempting to research it online I am no closer at installing the clips. Maybe the clips are a solid fix once you can figure out where they go but the lack of instruction for installation leaves much to be desired on a kit that is primarily supposed to fix the shoulders. After getting this kit not sure I would do another Dr. Wu

I was going to originally get the SXS set for Blitzwing, but the mismatched purple was a big turn off for me. After a bit of waiting around and deciding I was going to give in just for the sake of fixing the shoulders, I saw this set by Dr. Wu was being made now. I liked the new gun and the purple seemed to match, so I went with this instead.
Dr. Wu matches the purple perfectly and the head is a lot more G1 than the default one, which is perfectly fine with me! That said, it's also a little smaller and fits much better into the nosecone. ...I've also seen pictures of a skull looking face, but I have no interest in that so I'm not even sure how to access it.
The shoulder fix provided is also really nice! I was confused as to where to hook on those two little tab pieces because nothing was making sense. So I just randomly hooked them on there in the general area that was shown on the box not thinking it would work at all... but damn, the shoulders actually SNAPPED into place when I lowered them back down! They hold VERY tightly now! And the best part is that those little tab pieces are extremely subtle.
I'm very happy with this, and am glad I held off at first. Thank you! :D
