Finally.. got my hand on this green bad boy today :D
Took a few days to get home, given that I live in Sweden ..

But I am extremely happy with it .. except for a small problem .. the mini-gun barrel/tip on my Green Giant is very floppy and would not stay connected with the rest of the gun firmly,, but its' great, tog a little time to get then transformed, given that they were packed in the limb mode and not in robot or vehicle mode..

Buy it.. this set has awaken the inner kid inside of me..

As the title states, glad I got it. The detail is great, so is the possibility

I'm a huge Devastator fan, going back to the G1 cartoon. I had the toy as a kid and it was great. However, getting back into collecting as an adult, I've found the modern Devastators are mostly huge. I collect CHUG scale, so that's an issue. I've collected almost every combiner from Combiner Wars, but I never got the official Devastator because he's so much taller than the others. I prefer my robots to all scale together, as that's a thing now, as opposed to G1. So, enter the Green Giant Type 61.

First impressions: I LOVE this figure! He came out of the box with the pieces (mostly) ready to be combined. So, that was the first thing I did. I love it, so fantastic. Breaking it down into the smaller parts, I find that the vehicle modes are all really strong. There are a couple issues, like "Wheel Loader" (Scrapper) has front wheels that don't peg in and they can rotate, but that's not much of an issue. The point is, they all look great, like they should. The robot modes are serviceable. There are a few issues, like "Mixer" (Mixmaster) is top heavy and doesn't like to stand easily, but I can also deal with that. They look OK, but the individual robots are the weakest modes, in my opinion. But, we're here for the main event, correct? Well, that's Green Giant, aka Devstator. He's glorious. He looks like he should. He's also very steady on his feet and fairly poseable. Personally, I switched to the alternate head he comes with, to make him look more like the G1 cartoon. And, most importantly for me, he scales nicely to my Combiner Wars figures. He's just a hair taller than Bruticus at the head, which is fine as they were about the same height on the original cartoon.

As for the quality, it's fantastic. The plastic is solid and nothing feels like it's going to break. There are no real tolerance issues in any of the transformations and it's fairly easy to do. That's good, because the instructions are just so-so. Typical Transformer instructions, there are pictures with highlighted parts and arrows, forcing you to figure some stuff out on your own. But, nothing was really difficult and it all went smoothly. Aside from feeling good, the figures also all look great. They have lots of great paint applications and just look fantastic.

So, overall, I'm super pleased with this figure. He's just what I needed to get Devastator back into my collection. Also, picking him up here was a no brainer, as I found he costs more used elsewhere, and then even more than that new. So, TFSource all the way.

El mas parecido en detalle a Devastator. El problema es que el largo de su pierna derecha no va al nivel de la izquierda por un par de mm. Se sobrelleva eso.

This guy is the best at his price point, the others are nice if you are willing to part with 600 dollars. Lets be honest Hasbro/Takara version required PE add-on kits to even come close to this guy. The individual figures are awsome, only disappointment was the shovel part can't rotate around. I think besides that I think you'll like him as much as I do.

This is certainly one of the most wonderful updates to the G1 figure. By themselves the three upper bots are ok, but the lower ones are remarkable. It may not be the biggest, but I love how the pieces lock together. Very nice.

The absolute best Devastator ever made... Glad I was able to grab one before its gone forever.

An absolutely awesome, modern iteration of the G1 Devastator. Definitely far more detailed than Hercules, the only other third party Devastator in this category...

The only complaint I have about him is that he isn't as big as I'd like. I do prefer the scale of Hercules to this one. But Giant's incredible detailing and color scheme (and much lower price!) makes him a better choice for me out of the two.

HIGHLY recommended!

I'm like most people on a budget but I am also a huge fan of anything resembling Transformers. This by far is the best version of the AWESOME combiner Devastator. Incredibly detailed piece. I'm the happiest Transformers fan ever!!!!

This has become, by far, one of my favorite figures of all time. The vehicle modes look great, the robots have a unique style that I quite like, and the combined mode is superb. If you have the funds you should snatch this set up while you can!

Finally, after missing the first few shipments upon its release in latter 2012, I was able to finally snatch up this recent restock. All I can say is just WOW...the quality, construction (haha), and design is amazing. Very nice.

In regards to service, TFSource packed it super nice, well-cushioned, fast shipment. Thanks!

The best Devistator iteration ever!
I was blown away by the details and the quality of this toy. Everything about it is a win.

Remember what you THOUGHT Devastator looked like as a little kid? Giant actually looks like that. He just kicks so much butt it's hard to believe it's a transforming toy and not a massive resin model. The connections are sturdy, the posability is good considering his mass, and the bots all have something going for them too. Each truck could pass for a non-transforming model of itself (except for the lack of shovel action). The color is classic-accurate, not that day-glo lime green like you-know-who.

I keep him on a corner above my desk, and though I've had him for a month now I still grin a little each time I look at him.

If you're on the fence between this set, and the competitor that costs $200 more (before the add-ons), don't be - you won't regret a date with the Green Giant.

I absolutely love Green Giant. I love the new head on him; mouth opens and plus he has laugh lines. Think about it he is suppose to smile when he's doing demolition.
Bad: I had to send it back because of issues with the crand and dump truck.
Good: He's everything of a G1 expectation. What separates Green Giant from Hercules. Green Giant leans more towards G1 accuracy/ modernize version of him. Hercules is more of an imposing menace.
P.S. Maketoy is commissioned to do techno-bots can't wait for that

I spent a lot of time compareing Green Giant to Herc and I must say I am very pleased to have gone with the less expencive of the two. The asthetic alone is much closer to the true combiner than Herc could ever be. Very stable and looks excellent when displayed with my TW-01 Hegemon and other classic size transformers. Having grown up with the cartoon, the G1 asthetic plays a key roll in helping me decide which Transformers I want for my collection. Green Giant has this in spades. I could not ask for a better version. I have every Make Toys TF to date minus the yellow version of Giant and I must say this is thier best work so far. Looking forward to seeing what Make Toys has coming next. Highly recomend this over the almost twice as expencive Herc.

This has got to be one of, if not THE best combiners I've seen. The engineering that went into this figure is amazing. Each of the individual bots are extremely poseable, and have some of the best paint apps I've seen. All 6 bots are great on their own, but once combined this figure is awe inspiring. Aesthetically pleasing from all vantage points, Green Giant is definitely a perfect combination of G1 inspiration with a modern twist. If you passed on the yellow version, pick this guy up. You won't regret it .

I have Yellow and I thought I would be getting even better quality. Well, that is just not true. If you have the yellow and love it, stick with it. Green came out of the package with what looks like indentations in the plastic in multiple places, does not fit together as well, the joints are not as tight in the wrists, arms, and legs, and the right hand will not hold his melee weapon in well. I had to tighten the screws around the wrist and the hand just so his axe would not fall out of the hand much less stay up while posed. End thoughts. I think for this price they should be sending me a free replacement that has been checked over for multiple flaws like this this one.

Just got in green giant and all i can say is this thing is simply amazing. Of course thanks to the source for finally getting him in stock and shipping out plenty of em for those who ordered him. Giant comes in his combined mode sections and ready to assemble. Don't throw out the box since the instructions are located on the back and you'll need those if your wanting to display these guys in either bot mode or alt mode. Towering in at about 12 inches tall green giant is in perfect scale with the deluxe figures from the current lines. He even puts the new FOC Bruticus to shame but then again that version of Bruticus still kinda looks like crap next to anything 3rd party and worked on longer than 3 hrs in a factory. I just need to dig out my encore devy with the jb-07 upgrade set for display next to this new updated version. Best part is at $356 and free shipping anywhere in the states from the source you simply can't look at this guy and think he looks good and a decent sub next to Hercules at $600 not counting their upgrade set. Looking forward to getting the Stunticons now from Fansproject and having an epic throw down against the bots. Anyway final verdict on Make Toys Green Giant is simply BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!
